Lumon LGS System

Sliding Glass Walls That Disappear When You Want Them To

The Lumon LGS is a frameless sliding glass wall system designed for porches and patios. Toughened glass panels hang from a precision aluminum upper track and rest in a slim lower profile — with no visible frames between panels. When open, the glass stacks neatly to one side, leaving your space completely unobstructed.

When closed, silicone and rubber sealing profiles provide effective protection against Texas heat, rain, wind, and allergens. It's the same system used across Europe and North America for over 30 years — now available in Texas through Sunspace Texas.

How the LGS System Works

Simple, Smooth, and Built to Last

Each glass panel is suspended from a precision upper aluminum profile using roller-bearing components fixed to the glazing bead. The lower profile provides a slim guide track. Panels glide effortlessly and stack at either end — no swinging, no folding, no complicated mechanisms.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Lumon sliding glass wall system?
The Lumon LGS (Lumon Glazing Sliding) is a frameless sliding glass wall system that uses toughened glass panels on precision aluminum tracks. The panels glide open and stack to one side, completely opening the space — or close to create a weather-protected enclosure. There are no visible frames between panels, giving you an unobstructed view.
How is this different from a retractable or folding glass system?
The LGS is a sliding system — panels move horizontally along upper and lower aluminum tracks and stack neatly to one end. This is different from folding/bi-fold systems (which hinge and fold) or retractable systems (which roll up). Sliding glass walls offer a clean, modern look and are especially well-suited for straight runs on porches and patios.
Can the panels be fully opened?
Yes. The glass panels slide and stack to one or both ends of the opening, allowing the space to be completely open. You can configure the system to stack left, right, or split to both sides depending on your layout.
What glass thickness options are available?
The LGS system is available in 6 mm, 8 mm, and 10 mm toughened safety glass. The appropriate thickness depends on the panel height — taller panels require thicker glass for structural integrity and wind resistance.
How wide can each glass panel be?
Individual glass panels range from 300 mm to 1,200 mm wide (approximately 12" to 47"). The system accommodates up to 5 rails, allowing large openings to be covered with multiple panels.
Does it seal against rain and wind?
Yes. Vertical and lateral silicone and rubber sealing profiles cover gaps between panels and surrounding structures, providing effective protection against rain, wind, and outside noise. The system is designed for year-round use in Texas weather conditions.
What handle options are available?
The LGS system offers four handle configurations: a standard lower latch, lower latch with child lock, lower latch with pull tab, and a two-sided handle with key lock. The keyed option is ideal for added security.
Do I need a permit to install sliding glass walls in Texas?
Permit requirements vary by city and county in Texas. Our team handles the permitting process for you and will advise you on local requirements during your free consultation.
How long does installation take?
Most residential installations are completed in one to two days, depending on the size and complexity of the project. Our installers work cleanly and efficiently with minimal disruption to your home.
Is the system custom-made for my space?
Yes — every Lumon LGS installation is custom-measured and fabricated to fit your specific opening. Our design consultants take precise measurements and configure the system to your exact dimensions and layout.
